What does time-sensitive mean on Snapchat?

Lately, I’ve been getting lock screen notifications from Snapchat labelled with a yellow badge or tag that says Time Sensitive. I'm a bit confused about why this is showing up and how it works.

So, if you are getting a time-sensitive notification, it means you are an iPhone or an iPad user. It usually happens when you have Work, Focus mode or DND mode turned on your phone and still see notifications from Snapchat. If you want to manually silence it, just go to your phone settings, notifications, Snapchat and turn off Time Sensitive Notifications.

It is an iPhone feature which allows important Snapchat alerts, like direct messages or expiring Snapstreaks, to bypass Do Not Disturb mode. It can be easily turned on or off in from the Notifications > Snapchat app options on your phone.

It is a handy iPhone feature that allows urgent Snapchat alerts, like direct messages or expiring Snapstreaks, to bypass your Do Not Disturb mode instantly! You can turn it off by going to your phone’s notification option in settings and toggling it off.

That's actually an iPhone feature, not Snapchat itself. Apple marks direct chats and snaps as 'Time Sensitive' so they break through your Do Not Disturb filter and stay on your lock screen so you don't miss them.

It just means iOS thinks the notification is urgent enough to bypass your Do Not Disturb focus. If it's bothering you, hop into iPhone Settings > Snapchat > Notifications and switch off Time Sensitive Notifications.
