Jailbreak Firestick: How does it work?

I keep hearing people talk about having a "jailbroken" Amazon Firestick to get extra apps and movies, but I'm a bit confused about how the process actually works and if it's safe to do. Can anyone here help, please?

Jailbreaking a Firestick isn't an actual hack. It just means changing a device setting to allow apps from unknown sources. This lets you install third-party streaming apps not found in Amazon's official store. The process itself is safe, but beware: unofficial apps can carry malware or stream pirated content.

Although commonly referred to as jailbreaking, the accurate term for this process is sideloading.
Follow these steps to sideload applications to your Amazon device using Unlinked:

  • Install Downloader: Open the Amazon Appstore, search for the Downloader app, and download it.
  • Go to Unlinked: Open the Downloader app, type unlinked. link into the search/URL bar, and proceed.
  • Download the File: When the Unlinked webpage loads, locate and select the Download button.
  • Enable Unknown Apps: A prompt will appear asking for permission to install unknown applications. Follow the prompt to your settings menu and toggle the permission to ON for the Downloader app.
  • Launch Unlinked: Wait for the installation to finish, then open the Unlinked app (identifiable by a black background and white logo).
  • Add a Library: Inside the app, navigate to the Add Library tab and enter a library code. You can find active codes online by searching for sideloading codes (popular examples include emdyoutube, firestick, and firetvguru).

Hold on! Jailbreaking"a Firestick means changing a simple setting to allow apps from outside the official Amazon Appstore. It does not hack or damage your device. It just unlocks the ability to install third-party software, giving you access to more free movies, shows, and live TV.

Jailbreaking a Firestick sounds sketchy, but it's actually super simple and totally legal. You aren’t hacking the device. All it means is changing a quick setting to allow Apps from Unknown Sources. With this, you can sideload third-party streaming apps that aren't available in the official Amazon Appstore.
