How much does TikTok pay?

I’m considering starting a TikTok account as a side hustle, but I want to understand the earning potential first. How much does TikTok actually pay creators?

Direct payouts are not very big. TikTok's Creator Rewards Program states that its direct payouts are somewhere in the range of $0.40 to $1 for every 1,000 views. Thus, in case your videos receive one million views, you may earn up to $400 or even $1,000 in total. Nevertheless, in order for you to be accepted into the program, you need about 10,000 followers as well as 100,000 views in a month.

TikTok doesn’t pay a flat amount per view. The main Creator Rewards Program pays based on factors like views, watch time, engagement, search value, and where viewers are located. Videos generally need to be 1+ minutes and original, and the program isn’t available everywhere. So, I’d suggest looking for a different side hustle.

For a side hustle on TikTok, the bigger money often comes from brand deals, TikTok Shop/affiliate sales, LIVE gifts, and other monetisation, rather than TikTok’s direct view payments. You can poke around those areas and see if it works for you.
