How much does TikTok pay per view?

A friend of mine recently had a TikTok video go viral and wants to know if they can earn money from all those views. Does TikTok pay a fixed amount per view, or does the payment depend on other factors?

There are several aspects.
  • The program generally requires videos over 1 minute, and longer, original videos tend to pay better.
  • Views from countries with higher ad rates pay more.
  • Videos people watch to the end, and like or share, earn more.
  • Reposted or low-effort content often gets excluded.

Check the current rules, since they change frequently. Usually, 18+, a minimum follower count of around 10k, at least 100k views in the last 30 days, and living in a country where the program is available are the current criteria.

The bigger money for most creators comes from brand deals and TikTok Shop. So your friend should use the viral moment to grow followers and put out follow-up videos while people are watching.
