How do I use Instagram if I'm a complete beginner?

It's pretty easy to use Instagram as a beginner. Here are a few quick steps you can follow:

  1. Start by creating your account: Download the Instagram app and sign up using your email or phone number.
  2. Set up your profile: Tap the profile icon in the bottom right corner to upload a picture and write a short bio about yourself.
  3. Find people to follow: From celebs to your close friends, find people who interest you and follow them. Tap the magnifying glass to search for friends, celebrities, or interests. Their posts will appear in your home feed.
  4. Share a post: Tap the + icon at the bottom centre to upload a photo or video from your phone, add a caption, and share it.
  5. Interact with others: Scroll through your home feed (the house icon). Double-tap a photo to "like" it, or tap the speech bubble to comment.
  6. Message friends: You can also go to the DM section to check if anyone has sent you a personal message, or you can also initiate conversations by searching for a friend.
 
Just go to your App Store, download the Instagram app, set up a username and password and bam! Start exploring. The first thing you would want to do is find and follow your favourite celebrities, YouTubers, etc. This way you will be able to see whatever they upload instantly.
 
Getting started with Instagram is a lot of fun, and the layout is designed to be very intuitive once you know what the main buttons do.
Here is a step-by-step walkthrough to get you up and running:
  1. Create Your Profile: After downloading the app and creating an account, tap the profile icon (the little person or your picture in the bottom right corner). From here, tap Edit Profile to upload a profile picture and write a short bio so people know who you are.
  2. Find People to Follow: Tap the magnifying glass icon at the bottom of the screen. You can use the search bar at the top to type in names of friends, family members, or celebrities. When you go to their profile, tap the blue Follow button to start seeing their posts.
  3. Browse Your Feed: Tap the house icon in the bottom left. This is your Home feed, where you will see all the photos, videos, and Stories from the people you followed in the previous step.
  4. Interact with Posts: When you see a post you like on your Home feed, you can double-tap the picture itself to "like" it (a little red heart will appear). To leave a comment, tap the speech bubble icon right under the photo.
