How do I program a Roku remote to my TV?

I recently got a Roku remote and want to connect it properly to my TV so I can control functions like power and volume. Can someone please explain the steps to program or pair the Roku remote with my TV?
 
To program a Roku remote to control your TV’s power and volume, first pair the remote with your Roku device. Then go to Settings → Remotes & devices → Remotes → Set up remote for TV control. Follow the on-screen instructions and answer the questions about your TV until the remote successfully controls the volume and power. If you have a Roku Voice Remote, make sure it has working batteries and is compatible with your Roku device.

I have a Roku remote. It’s pretty easy to set up. Just Go to Roku Settings, followed by Remotes & devices, select your remote, click Set up remote for TV control, and follow the on-screen prompts.
