How to block a YouTube channel?

I’m trying to clean up my YouTube recommendations, and there’s one particular channel I never want to see again. How can I block it?

It’s very simple. Just visit the channel's video, then tap the three dots and select the “Don’t recommend channel” option. That way, you will not see this channel again in the future.

  • Find a video from the channel on your YouTube homepage.
  • Tap the “⋮” menu next to the video.
  • Choose “Don’t recommend channel.”
You can also select “Not interested” for individual videos.

Here’s a quick tip if you can’t block the channel. Clean up your watch history and remove anything from that channel. It helps stop the algorithm from thinking you want more of it.

The easiest way is to hit the three dots next to any of their videos and pick Don't recommend channel. If you want to be more thorough, go to the channel's page, tap the About section and choose Block channel if it's available.

To prevent a channel from showing up on your recommendations, go to YouTube and look for a video from that channel. If available, select 'Don't Recommend Channel' from the three-dot menu next to the video.

YouTube will take that feedback into account to lower the number of recommendations shown from the channel.

This isn't quite the same as blocking the channel, you can still manually search for and view its videos.

If you're not a normal viewer, you don't really have a “block this channel everywhere” feature in YouTube.

I usually pick Don't recommend channel from the 3-dot menu of one of their videos. That lets YouTube know that I don't want to see it a lot more, so it shouldn't be in the frequent recommendations.
