What are some good classic movies on Netflix?

Hey folks, I'm in the mood for an old-school movie night, and I want to watch some old-school movies on Netflix! What are some that have been good for you that you would suggest to someone?
 
Some classics I would look at first:

  • Forrest Gump — emotional and easy to watch.
  • The Shawshank Redemption — a good prison drama.
  • Good Will Hunting – excellent character-centred film.
  • The Green Mile—emotional and powerful.
  • Catch Me If You Can — fun crime drama.
Availability is dependent on the country of use – Netflix's selection differs by country.
 
If you don't know what kind of classic you'd like I'd go with the mood. If it's emotional, go with Forrest Gump. For some suspense, play The Shawshank Redemption. If you're in need of comedy and romance, check out Groundhog Day. The Green Mile is a good option if you are looking for a darker shade. Simply go to your local Netflix lineup.:)
 
I recently did a binge watch series of older movies and was amazed at how true they still are. I think "Forrest Gump" was my favorite because it's funny, dramatic and has a good story. I also enjoyed "Good Will Hunting". I would certainly see those two first if they are on your Netflix now.

Here is a genre to add to that list that I watch when I am in need of a home run at the movies,

I'll turn to classic '90s action or mob movies. Try out one of the two classics:

Scarface Pulp Fiction are always a great choice.

Simply enter the word 'Classic' into the search box to discover retro classics.
 
Most of Netflix's movies and TV shows change selections monthly everywhere, though one would expect to find classics such as ‘Monty Python's Life Goes On', ‘Taxi Driver' or ‘Heat'.

A useful tip: type the letter "3" and the width 574 (the code of the category) into a browser at Netflix—there's lots of wonderful retro movies hidden there.
