Is YouTube TV worth it?

My friend is considering switching from traditional cable to YouTube TV and wants to know if they’ll actually save money. Is YouTube TV worth the price compared with a regular cable package?

Mostly, yes. The price of YouTube TV is $82.99 per month, which is around $90-$95 with taxes, including unlimited DVR and without renting any boxes. Cable usually appears more affordable at first glance, but after adding all the necessary fees and equipment costs, it becomes quite expensive.

Yeah, but it depends on the cable bill. YouTube TV is usually attractive because it has no equipment rental fees or long-term contract, but the monthly price can be close to a mid-range cable package once you factor in taxes, internet, and any add-ons.

If your friend already pays for fast internet separately and mainly wants live TV, YouTube TV can be a good value option. If their cable bundle includes internet and lots of channels they actually use, the savings may be pretty small.
