How to half swipe on Snapchat?

Is there an easy way to half-swipe? I want to read a message without Snapchat sending the swiped message. Basically, I don't want to reply to messages sometimes, and I think knowing what the message is about without notifying the other person gives me more freedom to decide if and when I want to reply.

Yesss! To half-swipe, simply go to your Chat screen, tap and hold their Bitmoji, then slowly drag your finger to the right to peek. Just make sure to slide back before letting go!

Go to the screen where you see all the chats, identify your friend whose message you want to half-swipe. Press their icon and slowly move your finger towards right to see the messages. Once you leave their icon, the chat screen will go back to normal.

It's really not a big task to half-swipe messages on Snapchat. Just long-press and slowly swipe right to see the latest message someone sent you. Remember not to do it too quickly, as you risk going from half to full swipe immediately.
