How to change YouTube username?

I accidentally used my personal name as my new YouTube username and would rather use a separate creator name. Can I change it without losing my existing content?
 
Yes, you can. It doesn’t affect your videos, subscribers, playlists, or viewing history when you change the channel name.
  • On mobile: Profile pic → View channel → tap the edit icon → change name → Save.
  • On desktop: YouTube Studio → Customisation → Basic info → edit your name or handle → Publish.
