What does the green dot mean on Snapchat?

I'm new to Snapchat. I have added alot off friends. I took a closer look and noticed that some have a green dot; others dont at a particular time. What does it mean?

A green dot is one of the most common indicators that shows the particular person is live or has recently been live on the app. If you see a green dot next to your friend's profile, it means that they might be online or they were recently online. If the place near the profile icon goes from no colour to green, it means that person has recently come online. So, it is highly likely that they will respond to you.

A green dot on almost any platform means the person is or has been live. Nothing different on Snapchat. A green dot on Snapchat means the person is live or was very recently live.

A green dot means the person is online or was recently online. That's it. If the person you texted has a green dot for long and isn't responding, they are probably ignoring you (hehe!, just kidding, they might be busy)
