How to tell if someone has Snapchat Plus?

So, I'm trying to find out if my friend is using Snapchat Plus. Can anyone here help me understand how to do it?
 
Hey, you can simply look for a black star icon next to their display name. This is the official Snapchat+ badge.
You can spot this star on their profile or right next to their name in your chat list.
However, there is a catch: subscribers can choose to turn this badge off. If they hide the star, you won't be able to tell if they are using Snapchat Plus.
 
The most obvious sign is the STAR sign next to the name/username of that person. Extra-long stories and custom emojis are some of the plus features that Snapchat provides.
