Why are there white marks on my iPhone screen?

I have recently noticed some white marks (or spots) showing up on my iPhone screen. It’s really distracting, and I’m trying to figure out if it’s a software setting I accidentally turned on or if my actual display hardware is damaged. Can anyone here help?

White marks on an iPhone screen usually indicate hardware damage. It can be because of pressure damage to the display panel, trapped liquid, or a swollen battery pressing from the inside.

There is a high probability that your screen is damaged due to internal heating. The best thing you can do is visit a technician who will probably check if the battery is swollen, causing the issue, or if the display is altogether damaged. If the display is damaged, you will need to replace it with a new one. This is one of the biggest expenses when considering the cost of various parts of a smartphone. Basically, be ready to spend some money. It's recommended that you visit an authorised store to get the right diagnosis.

White spots on an iPhone screen are almost always a hardware issue caused by pressure damage, liquid ingress, or a defective backlight reflector. Restart your iPhone to rule out a temporary software glitch. If the spots remain, you will need a screen replacement through an authorised Apple Service Provider.
